May was a busy month at CDCS.  I hope you had a chance to attend one of our Spring Concerts to enjoy the talents of our various classes.  Plan to attend our Music Monday and Talent Show on June 17 (see info on page 3).  There have been lots of music related activities this month and our band and choir have done CDCS proud performing at Wonderland and more recently at St. John’s Church.  Students have also had an opportunity to hear a professional pipe organist and to attend the Paisley Blues Fest.
Track and Field is coming up this week.  The 3000m race has already been run.  Students who do well in the CDCS meet will be attending the Regional meet and the BESC meet in the next few weeks.  Thank you to Leanne Martin for coordinating and organizing and to all staff for assisting with practises and in running events.  Please remind students to wear a hat and sunscreen and to drink plenty of water.
We are extending a warm welcome to Ms. Tanya McLean who will be our new Office Manager at CDCS beginning Monday, June 3.  We wish Ms. Susan Greig well as she has transferred to the Office Manager position at Hillcrest Elementary School in Owen Sound.
The last month of the school year is often the busiest.  There are many field trips and events taking place as you will see from the calendar.  Please ensure you are signing both sides of field trip forms and we must have the original forms signed.  We cannot accept verbal permission for students to attend field trips.
Though the year is winding down, the month of June is one tenth of the school year.  There is still much learning to be done, but many memories will be made as well.
